Raining Hats and Socks
Since my last post I was a SPEAKER at Fredrick Nerge School, this is the 2nd year I have been invited back to speak and be the recipient of over 400 pairs of socks. I would like to thank: Principal Dvorak, Assistant Principal Slsawaf, teacher Mrs. Stinger, she heads up the sock drive, the faculty, and finally it wouldn’t happen without the kids.
I also received 200 knitted hats from Nadine Craven from the Luther Village who knitted all of them by herself, I’d like to thank.
The Luther Village Religious Enrichment group has blessed me for the last 4 years giving me an opportunity to share some of my stories and blessing me each year with roughly 1,000 pairs of socks. I continue to be blessed by communities who believe in what I am doing and support me not only financially, spiritually, and emotionally, but socially, you see I have become somewhat of a celebrity at the Luther Village people come up to me and say ” you’re Margaret McNamara’s son aren’t you” I politely say yes and the next thing out of their mouth is you’re the sock guy. It always brings a smile to my face; and a little laughter in my head that I am recognized.
Thank You for being so generous and giving me the opportunity to continue my mission of making people aware of the homelessness plight and spreading seeds amongst us to carry a 10 pack of socks in your car so when you see a homeless person you can hand them a pair of sock, you will be blessed more than you can imagine.
